Kids County Fair Carnival Birthday Party

Well, Savy and Hunter’s big Carnival birthday bash has come and gone and just like that, all of the hard work, planning, and prepping has come to an end! It’s always a lot of work planning for a party on the level we like to do, but I can honestly say I have never regretted it! It’s fun for me to have that creative outlet. From thinking of a theme, to making your visions a reality; event planning has always been a favorite of mine. Perhaps I missed my calling, but for now, I’ll just stick to our own parties! 😛

The Theme

Since My kids birthdays’ are just a week apart, why wouldn’t I do a combined party, am I right? The only tough part is thinking of a good gender neutral theme. I had narrowed it down to Circus, County Fair/Carnival, and Disney, and after some thought, decided the County Fair idea made the most sense for our house. We live on a ranch, so petting zoo is basically already in place (score) and things just fell into place from there.

What You Really Need

  1. The fair food. We stalked up with a popcorn machine, snow cone machine, cotton candy machine, and nacho machine. They were all a huge hit. I would recommend filling the popcorn machine with pre popped popcorn to make your life much much easier for the clean up process (trust me on this one!) I also scored a super cute Ferris wheel cupcake holder for super cheap (linked below) that really added that extra something to the dessert table!
  2. The Games! We scored a bunch of wood pallets from a local nursery and they made perfect stands for all of the games. We used chalk signs to name all of the games. I think we had six total, some of which I saw on Pinterest and a few we sort of just made up based on things we saw in stores.

Was it Worth it?

100%! This County Fair Carnival turned out better than I had hoped, and we had so much fun. Thanks to my handy husband that can somehow read my mind with exactly what I want to create and then do it even better! All the kids had a blast, and thank god for pictures so all that hard work can be documented! Ha!

What a cute party! I love the popcorn machine. That would be fun to have for summer movie nights in the backyard. Happy bithday to your kiddos!
