Our Stay at Hotel Del Coronado

Where do I even start with our recent experience at The Del? All the history behind this iconic hotel, the incredible food, the beautiful beach views from our room? Hotel Del Coronado has a special place in our hearts for so many reasons!

Why We Love The Del

Let me start out by saying, one of my favorite things about this hotel is that you have absolutely everything you need and more on site, without ever having to leave the hotel grounds! From work out classes, (including stationary cycle bikes outside with ocean views!) amazing restaurants, the pool, the beach, so many activities to do, you never run out of things to do with the family!

I wanted to take you through our trip day by day, so I can hopefully provide a small glimpse of how incredible this place really is!

Day One

From the moment we arrived, we had a quick lunch while the kids ran around on the grass in front of us. The hotel is so kid friendly with so many families, the kids made so many friends every day! Right after lunch, we headed straight to the beach! We built sand castles, ran from the waves, and found sea creature after sea creature exploring on the rocks! Sav and Hunt couldn’t even believe all the crabs, snails, sea slugs, anemones, sand dollars, and more! They could have spent all night there! We ended the night with the best wood fired pizza at Eno Pizzeria!

Day Two

Our second day was our first full day to take advantage of everything! We started out with an incredible buffet brunch, followed by lots of pool time, and the best tacos and drinks at The Taco Shack! We were able to eat with our toes in the sand and the food was amazing! Then we worked off some of the food pedaling along the beachfront sidewalk in our pedal golf cart with the kids! They loved it! As the night approached, we headed to the beach again for a private sunset s’mores roasting! It was such a special experience for us in the most beautiful setting. We even witnessed a couple get engaged next to us!

Day Three

The next day was another busy one, and we got to enjoy a daybed on the beach that you can rent through the hotel! It’s the perfect way to get a little shade and relaxing time while the kids play! Hunter even fell asleep for a few hours during our time! We made reservations at the hotels new restaurant Serẽa for dinner and I’m so happy we did! The food was so delicious and the experience was just as good. Serẽa offers the most fresh and flavorful cooking done in such an elegant manner. Their menu offers coastal cuisine with just a hint of Mediterranean flair…my favorite! If you are staying at The Del, or in the area, this restaurant is an absolute must for date night or family dining as well!

We can’t wait to come back next year and continue to make more amazing memories at this iconic hotel! If you’re looking for a legendary, stunning, and family friendly (and pet friendly!) location in San Diego, you will absolutely love Hotel Del Coronado, I promise you!
